Menard Group USA is currently seeking qualified Project Engineers to join our Houston, Texas, New
Orleans, Louisiana and Tampa, Florida offices. As a Project Engineer you will provide technical, quality
control and administrative support to Superintendents, Project Managers, and Construction Managers
on jobsites. You will mainly be working on jobsites the first 2-3 years, with available office time spent
assisting sales, estimating and project managers. As such, the Project Engineer will have significant
exposure to design engineering, bidding and estimating.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Ensuring that all Menard, OSHA, MSHA, and site-specific safety regulations are followed /
enforced.
• Performing and managing field quality control tests and production records.
• Researching and resolving drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors.
• Performing basic field surveys, resolving geometry issues, preparing drawings/sketches to
support construction work.
• Preparing RFI’s and assisting in preparation of change order documentation and claim analysis.
• Ensuring all installation follows Menard Quality Control Manual.
• Tracking invoices and handling documentation and proper submittals.
• Performing detailed geotechnical and structural analysis while collaborating with our
engineering department to develop work.
• Developing business and searching for new opportunities and clients.
• Maintaining and establishing new relationships with our customers.
• Preparing geotechnical designs, cost estimates and proposals for ground support solutions
based on interpretation of project documents.
• Communicating with Clients, Engineers and Architects to move the sales process along and bring
the project to contract .
• Negotiating contract terms.
• Supporting the Marketing and Business Development departments by attending trade shows,
conferences and other marketing events.
• Making technical presentations to prospects and supporting educational training of Menard
clientele .

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities
• Understanding of basic geotechnical design and calculation principles.
• Strong observation skills and ability to work with diligence.
• Excellent organization skills and attention to detail, especially related to completion and
documentation of all responsibilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including, but not limited to Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD.

Education and Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology or related field. Prior experience with geotechnical
construction and techniques a plus (i.e. drawings, specifications, building materials, surveying, design, or
geotechnical work).
-ORAny equivalent combination of education and experience which meets the required knowledge, skills
and abilities.

Physical Requirements
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking and sitting at desk.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to traverse facilities in all types of weather conditions.

DEPARTMENT SUMMARY: The Department of Construction Management at CSUS is designed for students who enter professional practice immediately upon graduation.  The CM program and teaching methods are therefore practical in nature, providing hands-on experience for students through labs and class projects.  Graduates of the CM program enjoy an excellent reputation among regional employers and many move quickly into leadership roles on large projects.  The CM program enrolls 400 undergraduate students, offering a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management with a minor degree in Business Administration.

POSITION DETAILS:

The position is a full-time, tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning with the Fall 2022 semester.

JOB DUTIES:

– Teach undergraduate courses in construction management.

– Teach a variety of construction management topics.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

– Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in construction management, architecture, civil or mechanical engineering or a similar profession are required, which must be completed by June 2022. Candidates with other advanced professional degrees (MBA, JD, etc.) in addition to a Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, civil or mechanical engineering or a similar profession may also be considered.

– Education and experience in several of the following areas: Material testing; construction surveying; construction graphics; construction documents; construction processes and methods; construction operations analysis; construction equipment management; estimating; project management; planning and scheduling; design of soils and foundation structures; construction accounting; construction law; labor relations; computer applications in construction; equipment productivity analysis; design and construction of temporary structures; statics; mechanical and electrical principles in buildings, and / or other related construction management and civil engineering topics according to the candidate’s expertise.

– Three years minimum practical experience in construction management or construction engineering positions with construction contractors in commercial building, engineering, or industrial segments of the industry.

– Effective communication skills.

– Teaching excellence and inclusive classroom environment.

– Ability to effectively teach undergraduate courses in a variety of construction management classes.

The Department of Civil, Construction & Environmental Engineering (CCEE) at the University of New Mexico (UNM) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Transportation Engineering to join our growing department starting Fall 2022.

The CCEE Department has a vision for unprecedented growth in research and education over the next 10 years that includes an aggressive search and hire of the future leader in civil, construction, and environmental engineering. The successful candidate will contribute to the research and teaching mission of the Department, which currently has 18 faculty members, several research professors, 250 undergraduate students, and 85 graduate students. The Department generates an average of $6.0 million in annual research expenditures. The Department is housed in the Centennial Engineering Center, which was built in 2008 and contains state-of-the-art civil engineering laboratories. The Department research centers include the New Mexico Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) center, a regional University Transportation Center (UTC), the Center for Water and the Environment, and the UNM Resilience Institute. The University of New Mexico also enjoys close collaborations with area research laboratories such as Sandia National Laboratories, Los Alamos National Laboratory, and the Air Force Research Lab.

To qualify, candidates must have a PhD in civil engineering, or a field closely related to the above focus area by the appointment date.
