Registration is Open for the Fall 2022 Dissertation Accelerator

Dissertation Accelerator

The event runs from Monday, December 12th through Friday, December 16th from 10am to 5pm daily and students can participate in person or by Zoom. The goal of the event is to provide dedicated time to get a lot of writing done, and everyone gets access to goal-setting and accountability groups, daily workshops, and support from the Communication Center’s Professional Consultants. We host the event in the faculty work space in Price Gilbert Library, so in-person participants also have access to coffee and snacks, a kitchen, and a variety of places to work throughout the day.

PhD candidates at any stage of the process are welcome to participate—whether working on their proposals or polishing and formatting the final draft. Should we not be able to accommodate everyone who registers to participate in person, we will give preference to first-time participants and those who plan to defend and graduate in spring or summer 2023.  More information about the Accelerator and the link to register can be found here: https://www.communicationcenter.gatech.edu/workshops

If you have question about the event or registration, you can email us at commlab@gatech.edu. Registration will close one week prior to the event start, on December 5th, after which participants will receive the event schedule and links to join remotely.

Upcoming Opportunities to Practice Conversational English

The Communication Center is continuing our Conversation Hour program this year, and we are hoping you can share the attached flyer and help us reach students who might be interested. Conversation Hour is designed for multilingual students who want to practice and get more comfortable with their conversational English skills—but all students are welcome to join!
Our upcoming events are on Wednesday, October 26th and Wednesday, November 30th from 5:30-6:30pm in the Communication Center. Students can use the QR code on the flyer to register or email us at commlab@gatech.edu.
