Villanova Transportation TT Faculty 2021-22

  1. Tenure-Track or Tenured Faculty Position in Transportation Engineering (Assistant or Associate Professor) – The Department is looking for a faculty member with expertise in smart transportation systems and closely related fields. Villanova Environmental Eng Visitor – Spring 2022

  1. Visiting Assistant Teaching Professor in Environmental Engineering – This is a one-semester appointment for the spring semester of 2022. The successful candidate will be expected to co-teach an undergraduate environmental engineering science course and associated lab with a full-time faculty member, as well as teach a senior level elective course and a graduate course. The successful candidate must be able to work collaboratively in the classroom with existing faculty in a co-teaching capacity. The candidate is also expected to maintain a presence on campus and be responsive to students as a full-time member of the faculty for the duration of the appointment. Two Positions in Construction Management / Civil Engineering

The Department of Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Construction Management is seeking two individuals with expertise in Construction Management to contribute to both our established Civil Engineering program and our new and expanding Construction Management program. The department is housed in the U.A. Whitaker College of Engineering, which is dedicated to quality education, scholarship, and service. All faculty are expected to be excellent teachers who are committed to innovative delivery of instruction that results in improved student learning; to using technology, including distance learning, effectively; to engage in scholarly and service activities; and to engage in a continuous and outcomes-based assessment process. Faculty in the department are responsible for effectively teaching select lower-level interdisciplinary engineering courses and/or lower level construction management courses as well as more advanced courses directly related to their specific area of expertise.

We are currently seeking the following:

  • One faculty member at the rank of Assistant / Associate Professor. This position requires an earned Doctorate from a regionally accredited institution in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering or a closely related field.
  • One faculty member at the rank of Instructor I / Instructor II. This position requires an earned Master’s from a regionally accredited institution in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management or a closely related field.

Successful candidates must work closely with the Department Chair, Program Director and other faculty on assessment and evaluation tasks necessary for both ABET accreditation of the Civil Engineering program and ACCE accreditation of the Construction Management program. Preferred areas of expertise for the Assistant / Associate position include virtual design and construction, advanced technologies and data analytics, infrastructure systems, sustainability and resilience and/or other cutting-edge construction and civil engineering topics. Preferred areas of expertise for the Instructor I / II position include project management, construction methods, construction / engineering mechanics, structures in construction, MEP (mechanical, electrical and plumbing) and / or other related construction and civil engineering topics. Professional registration, licensing or the ability to become licensed, or certifications related to the construction discipline are desirable for candidates for both positions.

Tenure-track assistant professor in transportation engineering at Youngstown State University

The Civil Engineering (CE) program at Youngstown State University seeks candidates for a full-time tenure-track assistant professor in transportation engineering starting in Fall 2022. The program is looking for a faculty member with expertise in intelligent transportation systems and closely related areas. Some topics of interest include autonomous and connected transportation systems; data analytics; impact of human behavior on traffic mobility; resilient infrastructure design and risk management. The faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, advise graduate students in their theses/projects, and establish and sustain an externally funded research program in transportation engineering.
