The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the University of South Florida (USF) invites applications for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction for the 2022–2023 academic year. The selected candidate will teach two classes in Fall 2022 and two classes in Spring 2023. The candidate should have teaching abilities in: Air Pollution (senior undergrad and grad), Numerical and Computer Tools I in Civil & Environmental Engineering (sophomore) and Fate and Transport of Chemicals in the Environment (junior). A fourth graduate level elective class may be on a topic of the candidate’s choice. Although teaching is the primary responsibility for this position, candidates will also have the opportunity to further their research and scholarship through collaborations with USF faculty and use of USF’s research facilities. The selected candidate is expected to have an earned doctorate or be ABD in environmental engineering, civil engineering, or another closely related field at the time of appointment. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. We seek a candidate who is committed to excellence in Environmental Engineering education at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The CEE Department at USF (http://www.usf.edu/engineering/cee/) has twenty-three (23) tenure-track/tenured faculty members, two (2) teaching professors, five (5) supporting faculty from the Center for Urban Transportation (CUTR), three (3) staff members, and offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees, serving nearly 250 undergraduates, 125 masters, and 70 PhD students. Our new BS program in Environmental Engineering just started admitting undergraduates in Fall 2021. Our Environmental Engineering graduate program was ranked 38th nationally and 23rd among US public universities by US News & World Report (2021).
