The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of New Haven invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position or a non-tenure track lecturer position in Civil/Environmental Engineering with primary expertise in water treatment, solid waste management or climate change/air pollution. The position will commence in Spring 2022 or Fall 2022. Exceptional candidates with prior teaching experience and a strong record of scholarship may be considered for an associate professor appointment.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses and laboratories in environmental engineering and general engineering, advise students, and mentor capstone design students.
• For tenure-track position, develop a strong externally-funded research program and publish scholarly work.
• Develop and teach online courses in water and environmental engineering.
• Perform service at the professional, program, departmental, college and university.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure or the ability to obtain the PE license within three years is desirable.
• Relevant industry experience is strongly preferred.
• Candidates with interest in active learning, experiential learning, and student engagement are desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills and commitment to collegiality and teamwork.
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
