I am excited to share a position announcement with you on the topic of Urban Climate Resilience and Adaptation Disparities’ as part of a cluster hire at Ohio State with the theme of Climate Justice.  Assistant / Associate Professor – Climate, Race and Place (RAISE Initiative)This Asst or Assoc Prof will be appointed jointly with City and Regional Planning to conduct intersectional work on race and ethnicity and resilience and adaptation to climate change in cities.  The successful candidate will join a CEGE department with established faculty success in interdisciplinary research – a quarter of tenure-track CEGE faculty hold joint appointments with other university departments, including City and Regional Planning. I note that the cluster also includes a position in Data Analytics and Environmental Justice in the Geography Department, accessible through the same link.

Job announcement – Post-doc position in water resource recovery, process engineering, and modeling

The Department of Civil Engineering at The City College of New York (CCNY) of The City University of New York (CUNY) is seeking a post-doctoral candidate with a strong background in water resource recovery process engineering and modeling. The successful candidate will investigate nitrous oxide emissions from municipal water resource recovery facilities and explore potential mitigation strategies.  The position will focus on full plant modeling using commercial process simulators including aeration system modeling and biological nitrogen removal processes. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.  The candidate must have the ability to work independently and possess strong problem-solving skills and should have publications and conference presentations. A background in computer programming and/or statistics is also preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  A PhD in civil engineering, chemical engineering, or related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  A background in computer programming and/or statistics

COMPENSATION:  Initial appointment will be for a 12-month period, with renewal subject to performance. We offer competitive salary and benefits.
