The University of Texas at Austin Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering (CAEE) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level. We seek candidates with a construction engineering and project management background to conduct transformative research aimed at drastically improving the sustainability and reliability of construction projects by rethinking the way the built environment is planned, designed, built, operated, maintained, and/or decommissioned. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Planning and execution of infrastructure projects related to green energy, disaster response, disaster recovery, and/or climate change adaptation.
  • Sustainability and reliability of construction projects.
  • Novel construction engineering or management technologies.
  • Research at the interfaces of construction engineering, project management, technology, and/or sustainability.

The multi-disciplinary nature of this research area will require collaboration with other researchers within and outside the Cockrell School of Engineering.

The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in construction engineering and project management to a diverse student population in the CAEE department, develop a sustainable sponsored research program, mentor graduate students, collaborate with other faculty from a wide range of backgrounds within and outside of the CAEE department, and be involved in service to the school, university, and the profession. Though preference will be given to applicants at the assistant professor rank, truly exceptional candidates at higher ranks will also be considered.

Qualifications

Applicants must have an earned Ph.D. degree, or be enrolled in a Ph.D. program, in Civil Engineering or other relevant discipline at the time of application.

The Department of Civil & Architectural Engineering (CAE) at Lawrence Technological University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of construction engineering starting as early as January 2022.

The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise and enthusiasm to support undergraduate and graduate programs in civil engineering, architectural engineering, and construction engineering management. The candidate will also demonstrate qualifications and aspirations to develop a multidisciplinary research program in areas such as innovative infrastructure and building construction techniques and methods, smart and sustainable construction, estimating, safety, project management and scheduling, and building information modeling.

A Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a closely related field is required for this position. Candidates with practical engineering experience and LEED certification, as well as possessing professional licensure are highly desirable. JOB DUTIES:  Teach courses in civil and architectural engineering as assigned by the department chair, usually 9-credit-hours per semester. Serve the department, college, and the profession by undertaking committee work and leadership roles and by advising students. Carry out scholarly work, including applied research.

The Faculty of Engineering and Sciences of Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez has great pleasure in

The Faculty of Engineering and Sciences (FES) of Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (UAI)
UAI is a prestigious private university in Chile. Founded as a business school in 1953, in 1988,
it started operating as a university. At present, it has 12,400 students in 8 different schools
located on two campuses: one in Santiago, the capital city of Chile, and the other in the coastal
city of Viña del Mar.

Job description
Applications are invited from outstanding candidates with expertise in civil engineering, in
the field of construction engineering and management. Candidates working in the
following areas are encouraged to participate: construction planning and management; road
engineering; building information modeling (BIM); GIS applications to construction; lean
construction; environmentally conscious construction; life cycle and risk assessment;
sustainable materials; sustainable design and construction; climate change and energy
efficient building; rehabilitation of critical infrastructure systems; productivity assessment
and improvement; construction equipment, methods and safety; visual sensing and analytics
for project control; contract management; human factors in construction. Other areas of
construction engineering and management are also encouraged to apply. It is expected that
the candidate’s expertise aligns with the vision of the FES, fostering the application of data
science in civil engineering in order to achieve sustainable development.

Faculty members at FES are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses related
to civil engineering and related fields, in Spanish and/or English, supervise theses, conduct
high quality research, publish in top international journals, submit research proposals to
national, international and multinational funding organizations, and participate in outreach
activities. FES also encourages and welcomes technological transfer and research in
collaboration with the industry and the government. The salary depends on the qualifications
of the chosen candidate. As a reference, a starting Assistant Professor should expect a basic
annual remuneration ranging between US$ 48.000 and US$ 65.000 (before taxes). This salary
does not include potential stipends from grants or research contracts.

Candidates need not be fluent in Spanish at the moment of applying. They must have excellent
oral and written communication skills, a great aptitude for teamwork, and a marked
academic interest in high quality education and research. Requirements include a PhD degree
