Job Information

The Moss Department of Construction Management at Florida International University, Miami, Florida, invites applications for a tenured/tenure-track open-rank (all ranks) position, with an anticipated start date in August 2022. The appointment will be made at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor, commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications. Qualified senior candidates may be considered for the tenured position. Candidates with expertise in all areas of construction engineering and management will be considered. The candidates must have an earned doctoral degree in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a closely related discipline. Evidence of research/scholarship is required. Industrial experience and/or experience of collaboration with industry partners is a plus. The successful candidate will be expected to establish a strong externally funded research program in their area of expertise, and teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and supervise graduate students. The successful candidate is also expected to develop collaborations with faculty across the Department, School, College, and University.

Moss Department of Construction Management houses Moss & Associates Built Environment Informatics Laboratory (Moss & Associates BEIL), Trimble Lab, Construction Process Laboratory, and the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing) Studio. Other available facilities within the College of Engineering and Computing include the Wall of Wind and Titan America Structures Lab. The department offers an accredited baccalaureate program with over 400 students and a Master’s program including a fully online Master’s program with over 100 students. The University is strategically located in one of the largest construction markets in the United States, with the opportunity for faculty involvement with major construction firms and organizations. The Moss Department of Construction Management at Florida International University, Miami, Florida, invites applications for a fulltime Assistant Teaching Professor position, with an anticipated start date in August 2022. The successful candidate is expected to have the ability and contribute substantially to developing and teaching a variety of construction management courses. Teaching Professors are expected to serve on committees, advise students and student groups, and participate in curriculum development efforts as part of a diverse and interdisciplinary community of learners. The successful candidate is also expected to develop collaborations with faculty across the Department, School, College, and University.

Required Qualifications:

Masters level degree (doctoral degree is desirable) in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, and/or in a closely related field.
Professional experience in the construction industry.
