Art Exhibit “Expressions of Analytical Minds” & Brain Art ‘Primordial Harmony’

We are glad to announce that the Art exhibit “Expressions of Analytical Minds” will be held in the School of CEE, Mason Building, on Dec 9, 5-8 pm.
The artwork created by the GT students of the Special Topics course “Arts and Geometry” will be shown. You can learn more about our course here: Fedele & Grant (2021) Forms and Expression
We will also have the special participation of several International students from the Colombian Universidad del Valle and the Universidad Pedagógica y Tecnológica de Colombia. They have attended our course and made artwork within the ROBOTARTS initiative supported by a Denning Global Engagement Seed Fund Award (PIs: Rimoli, Fedele, Vela, Rodriguez).

  • 7:20 pm –  ‘Primordial Harmony‘ Brain Art performance by Francesco Fedele, Rachel Grant, Dennis Frank and Mike Winters.
We will have the special guest Dr. Mike Winters, Ph.D., from the Brain-Computer Interface Group at Microsoft Research. He will introduce the Brain Art Performance at 7:20 pm and will talk about Brainwaves in Music and the educational use of Electroencephalography (EEG) technology in the classroom.

Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position at RIT

The Department of Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Management and Safety (CETEMS) in Rochester Institute of Technology’s (RIT) College of Engineering Technology (CET) is currently seeking applications for a full-time Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position. Candidates for this position will be expected to teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels, develop and execute an externally funded research program, and publish in appropriate peer reviewed journals and conferences. Responsibilities will include teaching, research and service. Demonstrated knowledge in one or more areas of smart city, transportation planning, geomatics, remote sensing and photogrammetry, infrastructure resilience and disaster emergency management, structural health monitoring and nondestructive testing, machine learning and artificial intelligence, computer vision and image processing, autonomous vehicles, geographical information system, building information modeling, operations research, logistics, or related areas.

 

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD required in civil engineering, transportation planning, geomatics, computer science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in one or more areas of smart city, transportation planning, geomatics, remote sensing and photogrammetry, infrastructure resilience and disaster emergency management, structural health monitoring and nondestructive testing, machine learning and artificial intelligence, computer vision and image processing, autonomous vehicles, geographical information system, building information modeling, operations research, logistics, or related areas.
  • Approximately 5 years practical experience
  • Demonstrated high quality teaching and/or training experience and ability to deliver instruction across a variety of civil engineering technology subject areas at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Demonstrated relevant U.S. research experience or demonstrated ability and interest in conducting research
  • Evidence of scholarly activity in the field of civil engineering technology and related areas
  • Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the college’s continuing commitment to cultural and gender diversity, pluralism, and individual differences.
