Faculty Position at Johns Hopkins University in Sustainable Energy Systems & Markets

The Ralph O’Connor Sustainable Energy Institute (ROSEI) at the Johns Hopkins University (JHU) (energyinstitute.jhu.edu) is seeking faculty candidates at the junior or senior level with interests in applying control systems, optimization, network science, market simulation, or statistics and forecasting to renewable energy system operations and investment, energy economics, policy effectiveness, smart cities, or multi-sectoral linkages.  Applications from candidates with expertise in other methodologies or applications relevant to sustainable energy are also welcomed.  

 ROSEI is a university-level endowed institute with over 35 affiliated faculty (energyinstitute.jhu.edu).   This position provides an opportunity to develop a world-class program in energy systems or market modeling as part of this new Institute, whose purpose is to place JHU in the forefront of research and policy to support the coming energy transition. The position is one of several faculty to be hired into ROSEI. Appointments will be made in the appropriate school and department within JHU. The search committee includes representatives from Applied Math and Statistics, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering, Civil and Systems Engineering, Economics, Environmental Health and Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Material Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, and Political Economy.
