The Department of Civil Engineering at The City College of New York (CCNY) of The City University of New York (CUNY) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Environmental Engineering. The start date for the position is Fall 2024.

We seek applicants who will join us in leading the efforts to evolve water and wastewater infrastructure to become resilient to climate change, and socially and environmentally equitable; and in areas that are complementary to our on-going research efforts in domestic water/wastewater engineering. Specific areas of interest to the department include, but are not limited to, wastewater recovery and reclamation; technology applications for process control such as automated instrumentation; modeling and systems management approaches that leverage water quality data; biological wastewater treatment; biological process modeling; PFAS and micro plastics, removal from complex water matrices, disinfection by-products control and research in other emerging contaminants in water. Applicants will be expected to foster collaborations among faculty members in their specialty area as well as across related fields of research.

Villanova University – Water Resources Laboratory Manager

The Villanova Center for Resilient Water Systems is looking to fill the Laboratory Manager position for the Water Resources Research Laboratory that supports Villanova’s green infrastructure quality research.  The job announcement can be found here: jobs.villanova.edu/postings/27060.

The Lab Manager directly supervises undergraduate student workers as well as serves as a team lead for the graduate students who conduct stormwater sampling. Regularly and proactively trains students in lab tasks and safety procedures. Conducts all nutrient and metals analytical testing, works with PIs to conduct quality control on data, and maintains data records. Conducts maintenance and troubleshooting for analytical lab equipment and works with other technicians and service providers on a regular basis. Ensures that all data is collected with scientific integrity and meets the quality control guidance outlined in the Quality Assurance Project Plans (QAPPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
