Master’s of Science in Engineering Science and Mechanics

The Engineering Science and Mechanics program, though outside of the 6 main concentrations in CEE, is often considered part of the SEMM group. Though, of course, they are structured quite differently.

Though both are 30 credit Master’s degree programs and abide by the rules in the CEE Handbook, your course requirements are as follows:

Non-Thesis Option
Mechanics -18 credit hours
Mathematics-6 credit hours
Approved Electives-6 credit hours

Thesis Option
Mechanics-12 credit hours
Mathematics-6 credit hours
Approved Electives-6 credit hours
Master’s thesis (CEE 7000)-6 credit hours

Your faculty advisor will work closely with you to determine the Mathematics and Mechanics courses you should register for but the following are pre-approved for your elective requirement.

AE -Any 6xxx-8xxx course that is not a seminar
BMED- Any 6xxx-8xxx course that is not a seminar
CEE- Any 6xxx-8xxx course that is not a seminar
ChBE- Any 6xxx-8xxx course that is not a seminar
ECE- Any 6xxx-8xxx course that is not a seminar
ISYE- Any 6xxx-8xxx course that is not a seminar
MSE- Any 6xxx-8xxx course that is not a seminar
ME- Any 6xxx-8xxx course that is not a seminar
NRE- Any 6xxx-8xxx course that is not a seminar
ARCH- Any 6xxx-8xxx course that is not a seminar
BC- Any 6xxx-8xxx course that is not a seminar
CRP- Any 6xxx-8xxx course that is not a seminar
CS- Any 6xxx-8xxx course that is not a seminar
EAS- Any 6xxx-8xxx course that is not a seminar
MATH- Any 6xxx-8xxx course that is not a seminar
PUBP Any 6xxx-8xxx course that is not a seminar
