Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Position at RIT

The Department of Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Management and Safety (CETEMS) in Rochester Institute of Technology’s (RIT) College of Engineering Technology (CET) is currently seeking applications for a full-time Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position. Candidates for this position will be expected to teach at the graduate and undergraduate levels, develop and execute an externally funded research program, and publish in appropriate peer reviewed journals and conferences. Responsibilities will include teaching, research and service. Demonstrated knowledge in one or more areas of smart city, transportation planning, geomatics, remote sensing and photogrammetry, infrastructure resilience and disaster emergency management, structural health monitoring and nondestructive testing, machine learning and artificial intelligence, computer vision and image processing, autonomous vehicles, geographical information system, building information modeling, operations research, logistics, or related areas.

 

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • PhD required in civil engineering, transportation planning, geomatics, computer science, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in one or more areas of smart city, transportation planning, geomatics, remote sensing and photogrammetry, infrastructure resilience and disaster emergency management, structural health monitoring and nondestructive testing, machine learning and artificial intelligence, computer vision and image processing, autonomous vehicles, geographical information system, building information modeling, operations research, logistics, or related areas.
  • Approximately 5 years practical experience
  • Demonstrated high quality teaching and/or training experience and ability to deliver instruction across a variety of civil engineering technology subject areas at both the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • Demonstrated relevant U.S. research experience or demonstrated ability and interest in conducting research
  • Evidence of scholarly activity in the field of civil engineering technology and related areas
  • Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the college’s continuing commitment to cultural and gender diversity, pluralism, and individual differences.

Tenure-Track Structural Engr. Assistant Professor position at the University of South Florida

The University of South Florida invites applications for Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position in Structural Engineering  

 

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is seeking a full-time tenure-track Assistant Professor who can develop a funded research program and teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Structures, Structural health monitoring, Sustainable structural design and Structural rehabilitation. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Candidates should have completed or be near completion of a PhD in civil engineering, or a related engineering area from an accredited institution with emphasis on structures; profession registration is expected within 1 year if not already registered. The successful candidate(s) are expected to start fall 2022. Candidates are expected to have demonstrated leadership and communication skills, be able to work effectively in teams, integrate research, education and service activities, and be actively engaged in leadership in professional societies. Candidates must be committed to diversity among students, faculty and staff.

 

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (http://www.usf.edu/engineering/cee/) has twenty three (23) tenure-track/tenured faculty members, two (2) instructors, five (5) supporting faculty from the Center for Urban Transportation (CUTR) at USF, three (3) staff members, and offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees, serving nearly 250 undergraduates, 125 masters, and 70 PhD students..
