As the name suggests, they were originally used in central China. Traditionally, women made them to carry sewing supplies: threads, scraps of fabric, needles, paper patterns, and other relatively flat treasures– all folded and tucked into pockets. However, today they can be used to carry any small treasures! All skill levels welcome!
