The School of History and Sociology welcomes Sowande’ Mustakeem, associate professor of history and of African and African-American Studies at Washington University—St. Louis, on Monday, Sept. 26, 2022. Professor Mustakeem will speak on the topic “Slavery at Sea and the Future of Memory” followed by a Q&A session.  Anyone in the Georgia Tech community having an interest in the topics of Black Atlantic history and diasporic studies, the history of slavery in the Middle Passage, historical memory, maritime history, medical history, or the history of sexuality is encouraged to attend.
