The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the University of Michigan is excited to announce two open faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. These positions are part of our continued strategic expansion and reflect our commitment to expanding our research and educational frontiers in the areas of Intelligent Systems and Sustainable & Resilient Materials.

Faculty Position in Intelligent Systems:
We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual who will focus on system-level techniques common to cyber-physical technologies. Candidates are expected to conduct research in artificial intelligence, data science, control theory, signal processing, sensing, and information theory, amongst others. Faculty Position in Sustainable & Resilient Materials: 
The Department is keen to recruit individuals who can advance our research in theory, fabrication, simulation, characterization, and experimental testing of materials for infrastructure applications. We encourage candidates with an interest in these topics related to both sustainable and resilient materials including carbon capture, recycling of infrastructure materials, high-strength materials and more. The review of applications will begin on December 1, 2023 and will continue until the position is filled.

Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to teaching and interdisciplinary research. The Sonny Astani Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (http://cee.usc.edu) in the USC Viterbi School of Engineering of University of Southern California is searching for outstanding faculty candidates. While outstanding candidates from all areas of civil and environmental engineering will be considered, particular interest is in candidates who work toward enhancing design, construction, and operations of buildings and infrastructure system through research in robotic construction, fabrication-informed design methods/digital fabrication, off-site and modular construction, construction automation, sensing, actuation and artificial intelligence as it relates to construction automation.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Seeking Geotechnical Engineering Faculty

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in geotechnical engineering at the assistant or associate professor levels.

We seek candidates who have research and teaching interests in experimental geotechnics with a focus on centrifuge modeling and experimentation. It is preferred (but not required) that candidates have prior experience in managing large experimental facilities and in centrifuge applications in geotechnical earthquake engineering or soil dynamics.The successful candidate will be expected to teach applicable undergraduate and graduate courses, to develop a high-quality research program that complements and supplements the existing strengths within the Department and the School of Engineering and to engage in professional service to the school. The candidate will have opportunities to collaborate with other researchers through various centers on campus including the Scientific Computation Research Center.At minimum, candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. or foreign degree equivalent in Civil Engineering, along with the ability to demonstrate, through their records of accomplishments, the promise of future distinction in scholarship and education.
