The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Northeastern University is seeking faculty candidates for four or more positions at any level in the following areas:
- Geotechnics for Sustainable Urban Coastal Systems
- Infrastructure Systems under Future Climates
- Atmospheric Engineering and Science, including one position related toMulti-Scale Climatologyand one position related toCommunity Engagement and Environmental Justice
These positions have opportunities for cross-college joint appointments with the Department of Marine and Environmental Sciences in the College of Science, the Khoury College of Computer Sciences, or other relevant departments. The department is continuing a significant, multi-year expansion in size and scope.

In addition to these positions, the department will be participating in the hiring of faculty in other colleges with joint appointments in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. These include positions with the Department of Chemical Engineering on Sustainable Food and Clean Water; the College of Arts Media and Design on Urban Coastal Resilience; and the D’More McKim School of Business on Digital Platform and Supply Chain Management. We also have opportunities for positions based at the Roux Institute in Portland, Maine related to topics of Artificial Intelligence and Energy in Civil and Environmental Engineering.
