The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at the University of Michigan is excited to announce two open faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. These positions are part of our continued strategic expansion and reflect our commitment to expanding our research and educational frontiers in the areas of Intelligent Systems and Sustainable & Resilient Materials. Faculty Position in Intelligent Systems: We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual who will focus on system-level techniques common to cyber-physical technologies. Candidates are expected to conduct research in artificial intelligence, data science, control theory, signal processing, sensing, and information theory, amongst others. Applications must be received by November 17, 2023 for full consideration. Faculty Position in Sustainable & Resilient Materials: The Department is keen to recruit individuals who can advance our research in theory, fabrication, simulation, characterization, and experimental testing of materials for infrastructure applications. We encourage candidates with an interest in these topics related to both sustainable and resilient materials including carbon capture, recycling of infrastructure materials, high-strength materials and more. The review of applications will begin on December 1, 2023 and will continue until the positions are filled. Successful candidates will have a strong commitment to teaching and interdisciplinary research.
