Job Summary

The School of Construction Management Technology (SCMT) at Purdue University has two openings for tenure track Assistant/Associate Professor faculty positions beginning in August 2022. A successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional potential to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, establish a substantial externally-funded research program, maintain active scholarship, and promote the Construction Management program through engagement.

SCMT seeks expanded faculty teaching and applied research capabilities in architecture, heavy-civil, industrial, and facilities management. SCMT emphasizes teaching and discovery that reinforce professional architecture-engineering-construction (AEC) industrial practice. A large majority of SCMT graduates gain employment in the U.S. construction industry. Many current SCMT faculty members have substantial AEC experience.

Qualifications

  1. An earned Ph.D. in Construction Management or a discipline closely related to the construction industry.
  2. Knowledge and skill to develop curriculum and teach a broad range of construction management topics, which shall be explained by applicant in the statement of teaching interests and philosophy.
  3. Ability to develop applied research projects and obtain external research grant funding, which shall be explained by applicant in the statement of research interests.
  4. Record of scholarly publication.
  5. A strong sense of teamwork and adaptability to mutually support other faculty, especially when team-teaching a course.
  6. Excellent written and oral English communication skills.

The School offers an MS in Construction Management Technology, and a Ph.D. in Technology is offered by the Purdue Polytechnic Institute.

The Department of Engineering at Swarthmore College invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant or Associate level beginning in Fall 2022.

We are especially interested in candidates whose teaching and scholarship incorporates the cross-cutting focus areas of sustainability, social impacts of technology, engineering design, or bioengineering.

Specializations can range across the spectrum of engineering subfields, with particular interest in the areas of Civil and Environmental, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering. Qualifications

For the Assistant Professor rank, the successful candidate will have completed their PhD by January 2023. For the Associate Professor rank, the candidate must be a tenured Associate Professor at their current institution. Previous teaching experience is highly valued. The strongest candidates will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to creative teaching and an active research program that speaks to and motivates undergraduates from diverse backgrounds.

The School of Civil & Environmental Engineering, and Construction Management (CECM) at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is seeking applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor with experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the area of Construction Science and Management (CSM) and with the ability to work in a multicultural, diverse and inclusive environment, beginning August 2022. Position description

The Department of Building, Civil, and Environmental Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Construction Engineering and Management (CEM) with specialized knowledge in construction of large-scale intelligent facilities and expertise in one or more of the following areas: smart industrialized and hybrid construction, digital twinning applications, remote sensing and digital-physical integration for construction management, the applications of virtual and augmented reality in management of construction sites, construction automation, and applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in construction, digitalization of construction, integrated project delivery, supply chain management. Duties include research, teaching at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, and service to the institution. This is a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor, but exceptional candidates at the Associate Professor level may also be considered.  

Qualifications and assets

Candidates must have completed their PhD in Construction Engineering and Management, or closely related areas in Civil Engineering, or be near completion at the start date of the appointment. Membership or eligibility for membership in a Canadian professional engineering association, preferably in Quebec, is required.

The main criteria for selection are scholarly and teaching excellence. The successful candidate will provide evidence of high-quality scholarly output that demonstrates potential for independent research leading to peer assessed publications, industrial application of their research activities, and the securing of external research funding, as well as strong potential for outstanding teaching contributions at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Industrial experience will be a definite asset. The Department values diversity among its faculty and strongly encourages applications from women and members of underrepresented groups. The language of instruction at Concordia is English, but a working knowledge of French is an asset.
