Through the ACEC Research Institute scholarship portal, qualified students have access to more than 100 scholarships totaling nearly $1Million in grants, including a $5,000 grant specifically designated for students from Georgia , various diversity and inclusion scholarships, as well as both merit and need-based opportunities. SD Mines geotechnical engineering faculty position

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) at South Dakota Mines is seeking to fill a tenure track faculty position at either the Assistant or Associate Professor level related to Geotechnical Engineering. An earned doctorate in Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline, and evidence in teaching and research excellence are required. We seek candidates who will establish a strong externally funded research program, contribute to the CEE PhD program, and have the ability to teach courses related to geotechnical engineering at both the undergraduate and graduate levels as well as other fundamental civil engineering courses. The position has dual focus of teaching and research. The desired start date for the position is August 2024.

The department and campus have expertise in geotechnical earthquake engineering, geo-environmental engineering, foundation design, rock mechanics, landslides and slope stability, remote sensing and geomatics, and biogeotechnics. We are seeking a new faculty member who can complement these areas of strength with particular interest in those who have the breadth of geotechnical expertise and depth of geotechnical knowledge to work effectively on and eventually lead transdisciplinary research teams. QUAD FELLOWSHIP

The Institute of International Education (IIE) is pleased to announce the application for the second cohort of the Quad Fellowship is now open to exceptional master’s and doctoral students in science and technology who demonstrate academic excellence, exceptional results in their field, and a desire to use their talents to promote collective good. The fellowship, initiated by the Quad countries of Australia, India, Japan, and the United States, and administered by IIE, sponsors exceptional STEM master’s and doctoral students to study in the United States.  The reach of Quad Fellowship has expanded – the application, for the academic year 2024-2025 is now open to distinguished candidates from the four Quad countries of Australia, India, Japan, and the United States, as well as candidates from the ten ASEAN countries of Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. 

The Quad Fellowship is a first-of-its-kind fellowship designed to build ties among the next generation of scientists and technologists. It offers an unparalleled blend of financial support, cross-cultural exchange, and networking:

Earlier this week, Quad Fellows gathered at the White House to celebrate the successes of the first cohort and mark the launch of the second cycle.
