The Department of Civil & Architectural Engineering (CAE) at Lawrence Technological University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the area of construction engineering starting as early as January 2022.

The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise and enthusiasm to support undergraduate and graduate programs in civil engineering, architectural engineering, and construction engineering management. The candidate will also demonstrate qualifications and aspirations to develop a multidisciplinary research program in areas such as innovative infrastructure and building construction techniques and methods, smart and sustainable construction, estimating, safety, project management and scheduling, and building information modeling.

A Ph.D. in Civil Engineering or a closely related field is required for this position. Candidates with practical engineering experience and LEED certification, as well as possessing professional licensure are highly desirable. Review of candidates will commence on October 22 and the application deadline is December 15, 2021.

JOB DUTIES:  Teach courses in civil and architectural engineering as assigned by the department chair, usually 9-credit-hours per semester. Serve the department, college, and the profession by undertaking committee work and leadership roles and by advising students. Carry out scholarly work, including applied research.

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
*Teaches and develops undergraduate and graduate courses in Civil & Architectural Engineering.
*Develops and sustains strong externally-funded research program.
*Advises undergraduate and graduate students.
*Directs student engineering projects.
*Participates in professional and University service activities.
*Keeps regular office hours to provide easy access to students.
*Maintains current knowledge in fields of expertise.
*Performs additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: 
An earned doctorate in Civil or Architectural Engineering or a closely related field.
